T5 spline count?

I thought the 4th gen V6 5 speeds were a different spline count than V8?

Saw this ad on craigslist, ad describes v6 5speed being parted out, 4th gen, however the trans appears to look identical to what would be in a v8 powered thirdgen?

Re: T5 spline count?

It's the bellhousing and input length that make's it incompatible.. The 4thgen V6 trans uses a Ford bolt pattern.

Oh.. silly me..

Is that what this trans appears to be? Kind of hard to see from the side.

Re: T5 spline count?

Ford Bolt pattern?? The 3.4l v6 trans are the same as the third gen v8 trans except for the input shaft length and gear ratio, the v6 has about 1/8 inch more length to it. It probably could be made to work. now the newer trans from the 3.8l are completely different.

I forget about those early 93-94 v6s.. (yes, I didn't read the craiglist ad, just saw the post asking about 4thgen V6s)
