4th gen T5 to 3rd gen T5 Question.
Just got me a new project, an 86 TA, 305, with the T5. The trans was shot when I got her. Third gear is chewed up and I am looking at different options. It is going to stay stock, so a T56 swap is not what I want to do. I was going to get a rebuild kit, and go through it, but I came across a 96 camaro with the 3.8 and it is also a stick. The parts house list it is a WC T5, and the clutch also list as a 26 spline. Does anyone know if I can swap my bellhousing and tailshaft over to this 96 T5? I know the slave cyl. is internal on the 96, and im not real sure on the shifter position on the 96 vs. my 86, or if the bellhousing to trans. bolt pattern are the same. I can get it cheap, so if it will work, that would be great!! Any info would be great!!!! Thanks!

Do you mean the pattern between the trans and bell housing, or the bell housing and the engine. I wish I could find a WC from a 3rd gen, but I cant seem to locate any around this area. Do you know if an electric speedo can be converted to manual using my existing trans if i can find one?

you can use a adapterplate (advance adapters) wich will compensate for the longer input shaft and Ford style bolt pattern
