I dont know much about third gen, but I alway like redline oil for high performing car.
On my Mustang t5 I use Red Line Oil ATF-D4 and fill about 3 quart.

All 4-speed and 82-84 5-speed manual trans use only SAE 80W or SAE 80W/90 GL-5 gear lube (SAE 80W GL-5 in Canada).
85-86 and 88-92 5-speed manual trans use Dextron II automative trans fluid.
87 5-speed mannual tans use SAW 5W-30 manual transaxle oil (GM #1052931).
I'm not really sure how much fluid the trans holds as I usually follow the "fluid trickling out of the hole" method. If you purchase a pump bottle, filling is easier.

Gear Oil FAIL
http://www.syntheticwarehouse.com/br...lube_study.pdf
Lucas Oil Stabilizer FAIL
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm
lucas product is mostly thick up the oil, if you engine or tranny is about to fall apart, I might try it. If you have time read up bobistheoilguy.com good site read up, i spend 5 year reading it.

Re: T5 fluid, how much? what kind?
I'm gonna fill mine with Redline ATF when the time comes, but any quality Dextron II ATF should do the trick. Gear oil is old and antiquated, I wouldn't use it even if you do have one of the rare T5s that is spec'd for it. And no Lucas, it's a gimmick. Any lubricant you buy today to good to go as it is without any additional additives.
