Corvette T56's were in '97-'07 models, but were transaxle designs. Either it won't work because it's for a transaxle, or you have a ZF6 6-speed from an LT1 vette, not a T56.
The ZF6 will bolt to a SBC, but it's completely different than other GM manuals and you'll have to have the pedals/linkage/bellhousing/clutch/shifter/mounts/etc. to make it all work.
Check out the C4 forums over at http://www.corvetteforum.com/ if you'd like to research the ZF6.

The ZF6 (S6-40) will only bolt up if it's not an LT5 one, the LT5 has a different bellhousing, which could easily be changed but the input shaft is longer too so you'd have to change it or add a spacer.
This is a ZF6 S6-40 next to 2 T-5s. It's very large and will not fit because of the clutch slave. Most have a magnesium bellhousing (says magnesium cast on it) and you will be hard pressed to modify that one. An 89 would have an alu bell, you could cut off the slave cyl mounting pad and move it down, a lot of work still. Then it leaves the stick position, it's further back than on a T5 or T56, the rear is set up for a c beam, not a tranny mount although that can easily be fabricated.

Yeah but check the shifter position and tunnel on those. There are better options such as the T56
Also, they did use an alu bell and modified it to reposition the slave cyl.
