T5 non-world class shifting weird...

Well before I had my current transmisison issues, I had a strange thing happen with the car. When I'd be in any gear (I think) and I hit wide-open throttle, the car would go, and without touching the clutch or shifting, it would feel like it kicked down a gear like automatics do when you mash the accelerator and would pick up speed. I've never experienced that with a manual transmission. Has anyone else had this issue?

Got yourself a 4bbl carb? Mhm.

It's not the transmission downshifting, it's the secondaries opening under load.

Ah...well I don't know jack about carbs. I told my friend what you posted and she said "oh, why didn't I think of that?" LoL! Thanks, now I know it isn't something out of the ordinary. Thanks for answering a question that probably sounded dumb to everyone else
