The 700r4 is very strong thoughout 1st thru 3rd but will not attempt to shift into overdrive. It has a good filter and fluid. Shifts into reverse and drive with no hesitation even when its cold out. I've heard marvel mystery oil will fix the OD prob but I'm a bit hesitant to do such a thing any feed back would be greatly appreciated thx

its located at driver's side on the center area like the white connector on this picture

Mine needs to be wired up an I can't find ANY diagrams anywhere. The only thing I can find is wiring it up for manual torque lock. This car used to have the crossfire fel injected 305 bt its been replaced well before I got the car. The sad thing is the wiring under the hood is butchered and so is the wire under the dash. It is an utter mess and without schematics I'm not really makin heads or tails of any of it. I'm jus nt sure wht to do I'm about to rip the dash out and start tracing and removing wires tht do not have a funtion

The car was crossfire fuel injected? What is it now? If carbed you will need to get a TCI lockup kit. They are fairly simple to install.

The overdrive has nothing to do with torque onverter lock up or visa versa

yep, the wires are for converter lock up only, did you try jacking up the rear and going high speed in third, over 100 mph?

There 1 or 2 probs with doin such a thing.... I just replaced the back tires on the car an I DO NOT want to replace those tires or do body work because I did that. At such a speed ( anything over 35 mph ) the centrifugal forces exerted on the tires would disintegrate the tires and tear fenders to pieces ....I dnt thnk so. Also I don't like the idea of spooling my engine to such high rpms an risk throwin rods n pistons out of the block. Such advice is destructive and costly and since its not a technical solution it shouldn't be said....

Transmission builder recommend doing that if you transmission doesn't shift into overdrive after a rebuild, it's the online way to clear debris from the valve body without opening it back up.
your tires will be fine, they should be rated to more than 100 mph but you can take them off if they are not

Cam u were right guy I recant my last statement it worked I slapped the throttle prolly 3 or 4 times n it shifted to OD. But Now a new development it vibrates in OD it doesn't do it n 3rd only OD the rpms are round 2200-2400 @ 65mph ( nt sure tach is inaccurate by 500 high ) ......

I have the same issue with my transmission, I was wondering though, does it matter if my engine is carbereted or fuel injected? I've searched a couple other places and was wondering if fuel injected engines would still the TV cable.
