B&m shift kit

So here within the next couple weeks im going to change my tranny fluid and filter and thought that id order a B&M shift kit while im at it. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about this shift kit? Lookin for more to really bark the tires and snap your neck and from what ive read B&Ms really do that just lookin to see whos all had experiance with them?

Re: B&m shift kit

Exactly... don't do it. Big mistake.

Get the Transgo instead.

Re: B&m shift kit

Everyone says Trango better, and I don't doubt it.

But wanted to throw in here ... I have the B&M kit in mine, and 4 years later no problems at all. Of course I don't daily drive my car, but it's no garage queen either - it gets it's share of road time. The neck-snapping I think comes more from the Vette servos or boost valves or whatever those things are that I changed in the pass side round cover - I had the B&M in there before I changed that stuff, and the neck-snapping came after changing those boost valves or whatever.

Re: B&m shift kit

The "design" of the B&M valve body kit is not to get long life out of the unit, just hard shifts. The "modified" TransGo Shift kit will give you the best of both worlds, smooth part throttle shifts and quick WOT shifts.
