TV cable, any way to delete???
All in the title, I swapped plenums and don't feel like trying to get the TV cable to play nice, they are finicky things and getting the engine throttle cable rigged up right was tricky enough, I am wondering if there is any way to get rid of the TV cable, an alternate method to the same end I suppose, though I rather doubt there is.
But I would also like to know just exactly what its for, afaik it just modulates line pressure based on throttle, which leads me to believe that hypothetically I could lock in the line pressure to a set # but would have to sacrifice certain shift qualities at certain RPMS. Look forward to some input on the matter.

Maybe a constant pressure valve body? TCI offers them. I am not sure if they eliminate the TV cable all the way...Thier not that hard to get lined up just be patient

You don't understand the problem has nothing to do with adjusting the cable itself, I swapped plenums, the only way I can use it is a custom bracket, I don't have much to work with towards the end. Trying to piece together a bracket out of odds and ends isn't easy, I'm still amazed I managed to pull it off for the engine throttle. I'll look into that valvebody though.

I checked into the constant pressure valve body, it says you still need the cable but implies that the only thing you need it for is proper shift points, I wonder if there is a manual valve body with constant line pressure, or if it by default would be a constant line pressure...

you might wanna message or wait until Dana from Pro Built see's this. I did a serach on google and someone on a 4x4 forum said he eliminated the tv cable with a manual valve body but the shifts are real harsh, he said they now offer a full automatic one but didnt provide a link to one.

why do you want a manual valvebody? A transgo shift kit will let you manually shift the trans whenever you want it. And you can still put it in D and let it shift on its own. Just think you will get tired of the constant shifting. Plus forget to downshift and risk burning the clutches up quick.
Manual valvebody is not like driving a manual trans.
Just my opinion, its your car and your money.

I'm taking an all thrills and no frills approach to my car, sacrificing a lot of luxuries for performance, I would just rather have a full manual VB, its just better if you're going to manually shift all the time, to me a manual auto is the best setup for pure performance, since a true manumatic(the new manuals with automatic clutches) isn't a viable option afaik, pretty sure no one makes one that would bolt up, they are by far the best of both worlds though, lightweight and less parasitic than an auto, but still unerringly precise and quick to shift.

i had a reverse manual valve body in my dodge charger, and ill tell you if you drive it much on the street its a a##ache, and im more willing than some to put up with hassle in the name of performance- stick with the transgo shift kit and when the thrill of shifting manually wears off just stick it in drive!

Best answer yet. Quit making a mountain out of a molehill, its cheaper and easier to buy a bracket and fab it to work than try to modify the trans considerably and try and live with the consequences of a trans that doesnt perform like its supposed to.

Something tells me they won't have a bracket for a 4th gen 3.4l v6 installed into a 3rd gen. That being said, I am looking into using the 3.4 bracket but I can't find anyone that sells the damned cables for it.
