HELP!!!Anyone know about the 4l60e?
i know this is a third gen site , but i have been searching for days for info on the 4l60e tranny in my 94 z28 i just bought.it has no engine.i was told the tranny is good(if you trust sellers) it has a big stall(i know it does cause it like an 8" converter) so to use it i got to at least buy a converter.and a dipstick and tube(missing in action..lol) my question is i plan on running a carbureted 350 in it.it has some sort of tps adapter on the fenderwell. they said they had a carbed motor in it before.will it work?what does the computer need to work the tranny properly?just the tps , the vss , and the tach?will the tach feed off my hei work as an input?i want to use all the factory gauges , even though they already ran some aftermarket stuff.i dont mind buying stuff if i know it will work.i would even rebuild it if i knew it would work right.any help will be greatly appreciated!

Try probuilt automatics forum. Dana runs it and he or some reader over there should know.

you need to get a tci or equivalent tcm to run it. itll run in safe mode missing most of the info it needs from the sensors.
