TH350 Build Help
Ive got a TH350 that im currently in the process of rebuilding, i have it all tore apart and have been looking at building a kit vs buying one.
The goal is to build this trans up to withstand 520hp + 250 shot of N20.
A friend of mine is really good at building 4L60E trans but this is the first TH350 for the both of us. Heres what weve came up with.
I'll break the two kits into Green and Blue as to not confuse anyone, links will all be RED.
Custom Kit:
First i took the direct clutch drum piston and had it machined 0.140 after following a carcraft mag post on building a TH350, this is to leave room for a extra clutch and steel.
CarCraft Build:

Ive also ran across a build where they used 4L60E High-Energy Borg clutches and " Turbulator " steels in the Low/Reverse.
My plan is to use Kevlar clutches on the rest
Double the Sun Gear bushings and drill the lube holes
Heat Treated Intermediate Sprag Race
Wider Direct Drum Bushing ( the .750 not the .500 )
hardened input and output shafts
Brass Filter ( ive heard its better then the cheap cloth or alluminum )
Ive also concidered using torrington bearings to replace the thrust washers because ive heard they really take a beating on a TH350 BUT require machining to do so.
Now on the valve body... I wanted a Full Manual, Reverse with TransBreak, but the price is arround 500$ would i save money by getting just a Full Manual w/ Reverse and using a LineLock on the brakes enstead and would it give me the same launch? Or should i just quit being a cheap azz and buy it. Lol
Full Manual,Reverse, Trans Break:

Supplied Kit:

Since im running a full manual valve body/ reverse can i also do a dual feed? Would it aid in my type of build, im not sure of all the " if you do this then you cant do that " versions of the custom upgrades.
I know im having you do alot of running arround and searching but its because i dont know if im on the right track with my custom build or should i just buy a kit and get it over with, i feel im over thinking the situation. But ive heard if you dont build them correct they will shatter but on the other hand ive seen people on here have a TH350 and hit 8 seconds with it. Constructive Criticism is Welcome just aslong as i learn something from it, Or if you have any " thats a good idea but i would do this enstead " insights.
Thanks
