anyone swap out fluid to synthetic say royal purple I was about to service my trans and was talking to a friend who said he serviced his with B/M trans fluid and it trashed his trans?
he was talking about that you shouldnt swap the fluid on a trans that has miles on it.
My car is not low millage but I have always kept my trans serviced
anybody have bad experiences with synthetic trans fluid.

Dexron-VI is synthetic and is backwards compatible with Dexron-III. I'm using Valvoline Dex-VI in a newly rebuilt 4L60E. Major brand Dex-VI is way cheaper than RP Dex-III.
Unless you run the wrong spec fluid or run the trans dry, transmission failures due to fluid is unlikely, IMO.

I'm running Valvoline Maxlife synthetic atf in mine. I changed it out half way through the summer and so far I'm very happy with it.
You can get is in gallon jugs from Advance Auto parts , and certain Walmarts also have it in gallons.
