Re: Automatic to Manual
Wicked Hard man ! Gonna cost a zillion dollars , blood sweat and tears , and maybe even the chastity of several nubile virgins .....
Or
Piece O cake , a few bolt ins here and there and before ya know it , you're bangin gears with the best of em .......
What is the difference , you ask ?????
YOU ! Your skill set . Your will to do research , to do the work required properly , and not take short cuts , is the deciding factor in how hard it's gonna be . A great place to read is the two sticky threads , one involving a T-56 swap and the other is the "all we know about the T5" thread both of which are at the top of the page .
Now for my own purposes , were I to attempt this swap , I'd find a wrecked/neglected 5 speed car on the cheap , pay to have the gearbox gone through and rebuilt by a shop I trust , and swap it all over with a new clutch disc , pressure plate , throw out bearing , and pilot bearing . the flywheel would , of course , be resurfaced . If I didn't like the looks of the Master/slave cylinders I'd likely be using new there as well ......
