700 r4 torque converter.
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what torque converter I should run in my firebird? Its got a 350 chev, 305 heads an I think that the cam is stock I would like to run an after market converter, just need to know what stall I should look at putting in it.
Thanks.

With that combo I think a stock stall would be fine.. Maybe a 2000 stall at the most.
With Low rpm heads and low rpm stock cam, you are not making power high up in the power band, so no reason to use a higher stall converter.
When you move the power band up with bigger cam, bigger heads, etc then is when you need the high stall converter.

Ok thanks for that will keep what I have currently running in the car. Just wasn't sure whether to change it out as I don't really know anything about torque converters.
Cheers Nat.
