9 Bolt Axles and disc brakes on 10 bolt??
I bought a 9 bolt with disc brakes for much of nothing yesterday and was excited until i learned that parts are almost non-existent compared to the 10 bolt that is in my car now. It has 2.77s in it and I want 3.73s but i can't find a series 3 carrier. So is there a way I can transfer the brakes and better axles to my 10 bolt or is it a no go?

Brakes should swap if you're 10 bolt has disc back plates on it currently. I swapped mine from my 9 bolt to the 10 bolt in the car now. If the 10 bolt is drum good luck.
Axles no. Completely different.

I would start there. You will need more parts than just back plates.

flynbye.com and bigbrakeupgrade.com at least sell the 10 bolt drum (and other) conversion brackets.

Other than the 10 bolt and 9 bolt will still bolt into the car the same way, they are completely different diffs and parts from one will not work in any way on the other. You might as well be trying to convert Ford or Dodge diff parts to the 10 bolt.
Even the disk brake mounting brackets won't work on the 10 bolt diff. Bolt pattern is completely different.

Depending on how much you want to spend and how much work you want to do your self you can rebuild the 9 bolt and swap to a 3.73 and disc brakes. There is loads of info on rebuilding the diff. Look for a 3.73T ring gear. The T indicates it is Thick and fits the series 2 carrier if you can't find a series 3. You can get the disc backing plates and get the PBR brakes if you can.

the delco moraines that are almost certainly on the nine bolt are not worth the effort involved in swapping. by the time you install the 'recall kit' and refurb them you'll have almost as much into them as a set of the PBRs and only minimally more stopping power than your existing drum brakes.
