700r4 to a t56 tanny swap

hello , I have a 1991 rs, with a 700r4 ,im doing the swap to a t56 .I need the clutch pedal assembly to do so. Its a bit confusing reading every ones threads. some say I need the pedals from a 82-92 t5 car. others say I can use 93-02 style pedals. there is a tranny swap thread on her that says anything from a 84-97. pedals will work. there are several pedals out there such as on e-bay. of my choice. I have been looking at my current configuration on my car and trying to compare them with the pictures that are from the sellers ads. but this is not a guarantee. If there is anyone that could help with this, maybe some one that has all ready done this, before I purchase the wrong pedals it would be deeply appreciated. or maybe some one has the right ones for sale I could purchase let me know. Thank you.

I used pedals from a '97, but you can use thirdgen pedals. Any of the setups will work. You just have to do different things depending on what set you run.

That's sort of what I thought. but im trying to make it a little easier , less time working on it more driving ,HA. was it worth the time switching it ? I currently have a built 700r4 with a shift kit in it. and it will chirp going into third gear .

Re: 700r4 to a t56 tanny swap

I kept destroying 700R4's... after taking 2 out within 8k miles I decided to swap and haven't really looked back. I did the swap pretty quickly and even made a tutorial. At the track I was chirping going into 4th...

The only downfall is you really need to beef up the drivetrain if you want to get traction at the drag strip. When it was stalled Auto, I was pulling a 1.8 on drag radials and could have gotten it down more with better tires. With the T56, I haven't had a chance to run it on fresh drag radials, but the best 60ft I have pulled is a 2.19.

As for road trips and going through the windy roads, I am extremely happy with the swap! Sooo much more fun, and better gas mileage with the double overdrive.
