Tremec T56 swap
Hi Guy's it has been a while now and I have been flat out on my 82 T/A build. I now have a fully built 4 bolt 383 stroker with Victor Jr heads RPM intake that has been played with, a special grind cam and all the Beehive roller solid doo dars from Comp Cams too.
I have another new part that just sort of fell in my lap yesterday I have a T56 6 speed to add in to the pot. Has anybody got a list starting with Fly wheel to clutch cable they could email me or just post up. So that I can head in the right direction first as last. I have the shifter boot and plate for the console and I have the pedal box, I have the correct bell housing for a per 86 SBC and I have the spohn trans mounting.

Re: Tremec T56 swap
Is the engine single piece rear main or two piece? How was the engine balanced when built? Is the current flywheel neutral balance or does it have a counterweight?

Re: Tremec T56 swap
Ok I have been out and had a good loo at the casings, there is no tag on mine, but I did find where it was broken off.
on the main casing it says Tremec 13-86-065-902
it says where the shifter bolts, on the side Borg Warner 13-88-083-808G

If the front has the pull fork mount provision and throwout bearing tube, you would have a 93-97 F-body box. Google for pics to compare.
A mount up front for the later slave cylinder would be 98 and later.
But the casting numbers don't mean much. Pics speak volumes.

Re: Tremec T56 swap
Great it is a 94+ Camaro box then. it takes a stock 11" clutch and flywheel.I fitted the one off my Muncie and it went right on. Just need to find out what Clutch fork to use, as I haven't go anything and I haven't got any of the other parts from the peddle down ?.

Re: Tremec T56 swap
Well your next move depends on your bellhousing you have.
It is not a bolt-on proposition at this point unless you run 93-97 everything plus the aftermarket flywheel to suit the 383 you have.
While the old clutch matches the splines, there is more to mate the pilot depth and clutch release than a 5 minute thread.
Back to post 3 and your bellhousing. . .

[QUOTE=Gambit TA;5857289But I don't know what parts a 93+ used lol. can I get the Z bar and rod kit for a 82+ and use that ? or has anyone got a 93+ or is that a fluid operated clutch ?[/QUOTE]
No Z bar. This is a hydraulic linkage.
Notice the pressure plate is much flatter than the average PP. The throwout bearing is installed BEHIND the PP, on the clutch side. The clutch fork PULLS the throwout bearing to release the clutch.
Here is what the hydraulic linkage looks like outside the transmission. You can see the slave cylinder that pushes the fork FORWARD, not toward the rear of the car as a Z bar would.
