T5 Experts-How's my T5 look?
Gonna be doing a T5 swap soon and picked this up some time ago. Finally got it open and looked for the obvious but didn't see anything that jumped at me however I'm no expert. Someone with a good eye care to say what they think?

Much better than most...
Places to look at most carefully, are the "drive" side of the clutch gear teeth and the side of the countergear teeth that mesh with them; and reverse gear. The teeth in question are the ones in the 1st pic at the far right, that have the "highlight" on them. You can see that the groove from the countergear teeth isn't too deep, and there's not too much wear on them.
Reverse, looks like the PO knew to put it in a forward gear before going to reverse, instead of just jamming it in and letting it grind. Which is good; reverse itself isn't a big deal, but not filling the transmission with metal chips, is golden.
Looks like th elittle green plastic pads are missing from the 5th gear fork.
Prolly about as good a core as you're ever likely to find these days.

Re: T5 Experts-How's my T5 look?
Thanks for the input guys.
luvofjah-Went to their site but didn't see much of anything. Nothing in the eBay store. Seen them post here years ago about upgraded gears but most of the members were opposed since it was so expensive. For the price could pick up a T56.
With what else was said, I'm assuming this should be good to go ahead and put in? I'll check that 5th gear fork for the pads, didn't even think to look for those.
jmd-Not really seeing what you mean. Mind marking the area?

Trans and swap turned out great. Very smooth. No noise or grinding. Very satisfied so far. Gonna top it off with a Pro 5.0 shifter.
