Re: Just needing some advice rear end
Well the stock rear is junk at that power level. Hand full of launches with decent traction and the stock rear will be broken.
You will need some sort of bigger/stronger rear. 12 bolt, ford 9" or dana 60

I like 9inch rears myself. my opinion aside you need something more then the stock rear end.

Re: Just needing some advice rear end
I agree with what others have said. Keep in mind that the 10bolt rear's ring gear diameter is only 7.5''-7.625''. The borg warner 9bolt rear's ring gear diameter is only slightly larger at 7.75''. GM put borg warner rears in L98 cars and LB9 cars with 3.45 or 3.42 gears to keep warranty compliance. The 1990-1992 L98's were rated at 245 hp and 345 ft. pounds of torque. GM had warranty repair issues with 10 bolts behind L69's when they came out in 1983 and those motors only had 190 hp and 240 ft. pounds of torque. The 4th gen guys will tell you all the time how poorly 10bolts hold up to LS power with good traction as well.
The rear ends GM put in 3rd gens and 4th gens from the factory were good enough to take factory power and some abuse - to an extent. 10bolts and borg warner 9bolts are light and require less power to turn compared to a 12 bolt (8.75'' ring gear diameter) or 9'' rear end . These stock factory rear's are great for the EPA fuel economy cycle but, not necessarily the best choice when making a lot of power and trying to hook it up on the street or track.
You are more than double the capacity of what the factory put in these cars so your entire driveline will have to be matched to your power output. When you swap rear ends make sure you install and aftermarket driveshaft that is larger to resist all that extra twist from your new set up. I wish my motor made the power that yours does. I've got a stock L98 with full intake and exhaust bolt ons and I twisted the factory driveshaft and got a real bad vibration. I swapped it out with a 3'' aluminum driveshaft from inland empire and that fixed that problem.

Re: Just needing some advice rear end
I run a 9" in my race car. It's cheaper and easier to modify than any other diff. Buy a posi and throw whatever gear ratio you want on it. There's no carrier series like in 10 or 12 bolt diffs.
I run an aluminum center section with a Daytona aluminum pinion carrier (larger bearings) and an aluminum spool. I can lift the center section into the diff with one hand.
As mentioned above, bite the bullet and buy an aftermarket diff. You can sink a lot of money into the 10 bolt to try and make it better but in the end you still have a diff with tiny ring and pinion teeth that can fail at any time. 9" and 12 bolts are the most popular. A Dana 60 is a bit of an overkill plus it's a very heavy diff.
As for a driveshaft, I run a 3" x .083" walled steel shaft with 1350 series yokes and u-joints.

Update . So after I thought I made my mind up. I called strange and I ended up getting the S60 with true-trac , 4.10s And willwood 11 disc brake package with E-brake. And there going to install the brakes . can't wait for it to be here . And I can't wait to have 35 spline axles under the car. I'll post pics when it gets here.

Re: Just needing some advice rear end
ty!! Worked a lot of over time for that . It's heavy I don't know how much but heavy duty . I'm not into the drag or autocross just teaching Mustang owners a lesson or two lol. And I wanted a beefy rear bc next year it's a 632 going in! Just ordered brodix 2xtras heads for it .

Re: Just needing some advice rear end
Very nice,
Any way I only have photos comparing 9" and the 10 Bolt.
So here's what there really talking about when they say the 9" is FAR superior to the 10 Bolt.
The 10 Bolt is much weaker then the 9" in every way but has its place. And I'm not talking about " in the trash."
This is one of the reasons I Built a 10 Bolt. Weight and rotating mass off the line. My little 5.0 could not get this moving.

Re: Just needing some advice rear end
Yeah I understand that ! And this is bigger than the 9" . But I wanted a bullet proof rear for what I do. And when I get the 632 I'm sure I won't tell the difference turning it . And I'm sure the 383 won't mind it until then

A 383, is what the converted 9" and S60 are made for.
Cars with a considerable amount of power.
I was only referring to my little 5.0 when it came to mentioning the 10 Bolt Build.
When I eventually drop in a built 350 I will be looking for a 9" or S60 like yours.
Enjoy your new rear end .....
