Need Photo of Pro 5.0 Shifter with SLP ****
Anyone have a photo of this shifter with this ****?
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/sh...o-5-0-shifter/
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/sh...pped-slp-logo/
I'm wondering if this **** covers all of the Pro 5.0 threads.
Using the stock '84 **** now on the Pro 5.0 and it covers at most half of the threads. Added a copper sleeve to cover the remaining threads, but will try the SLP **** if it covers the threads.
Also, is the SLP **** more padded than the factory leather ****?
Thanks,
Rich

The SLP **** is as hard as the stock ****. There is no padding, it is just leather covered plastic. It's a very nice **** though, love it in my 4th gen.
As far as the threads go, I can't answer that.

Installed a short copper sleeve over the exposed threads. Not ideal, but fine as temporary cover. Stock **** is good, as is the Pro 5.0 shifter function. Threads sucks.
What have others done to cover the threads?

I just put a pro 5.0 in my 83 T/A and used a Hurst shift **** from my 4th gen. (I know, I know - Hurst **** on a Pro 5.0?!) I like the way it feels and had a spare from my 4th gen so just decided to go with it. It was the same threads as the stock **** from the 83. It is the same as the SLP **** though besides the marking on the top. I can snap a pic of tomorrow if you'd like.

yep covers all the threads... id invest in a Lou's short stick too. not sure if it will work with the pro 5.0 t5 in a third gen but it works fine with the hurst in the third gen. it did not work with a t5 ina 4th gen
