Who to buy a 700R4 from?
I need a new 700r4 for my 89 LB9. Its a mild motor in a 3100 lb car with a 3.73 rear. I don't race it, will tow 1000 lb trailer once in a while.
I see lots of rebuilders out there, all advertising the best transmission for the lowest price...
I know almost anyone can rebuild a 700, not everyone is good at it.
Suggestions on who to buy from? I'd like to have it installed with fluid, TC, tax, shipping etc for under 2K.

www.700R4.com, not the cheapest, but probably the best value.
I have run their 2200-stall, it wasn't too horrible, but I would choose something else if there's a next time. I've had good results from B&M.

Bought a level 2 from Bowtie overdrives in December, put a few k miles on it, really happy, shifts and sounds great, no leaks

I would pick a reputable shop, tell them that you're going to tow with it and have them source the transmission.
Ask about having them install an auxiliary cooler for you.
I say this because should you ever have trouble with it, you avoid the hassle of playing middle man between the rebuilder and the shop.
