Eaton Posi Install
The Auburn in my '84 is toast and has developed the telltale side-to-side axle play and peg legs around corners now. The car is just going to be a fun street car and will see some autocross and drifting, so I didn't see a need to upgrade axles, and the stock 3.23 gears seem to be a decent compromise for highway use and performance.
My questions:
-All of the threads I'm seeing involve replacing axles and ring-and -pinions. At 107k hard street miles behind an auto and LG4, would wear on these items justify replacement?
-Do I need the full install kit to just have the diff replaced? I heard that axle bearings and diff cover are a good idea, so I'll do those. Anything else while it's apart?
-Does the 26 spline Eaton posi use the same bearings as stock?
I don't want to cut any corners in setting up a good rear end, but I'm also not launching on Mickey's and don't want to put crazy money in a 10 bolt or drop the cash on a big heavy 9".

I would recommend the Eaton Truetrac instead of the Eaton Posi for what you ware wanting to do.
