Manual TO Automatic Swap Questions!
Hey guys i was originally going to drop a t56 in when i do my motor swap but the cost and work just isn't making to much sense to me anymore so instead i am planning on swapping my manual to an automatic. Instead of going with a t56 I've decided i want to go with a stage 2 700r4 which will handle the amount of power i will have and cost half as much as a t56 swap.
So my question or questions are can anyone give me any insight into doing this swap? So as far as i know i should be able to keep my drive shaft since the tranny's should be the same length, correct me if I'm wrong?
Also can anyone please tell me what all i will need to do? I.e. what to do with my clutch, clutch reservoir, also obviously since my shifter will be different i am most likely going to go with a B&M ratchet shifter but since mine is originally a manual will it still mount up alright and what about the neutral safety switch and reverse lights? how would I make that all work? Sorry I know its a lot of questions I just want to make sure i have as much information as possible before i decide to start making purchases.

the shifter install will likely be the most difficult. best to cut out the tunnel piece from an automatic car and install it into your's IMO. your manual tunnel will have a hole where the brackets to install the automatic shifter should be located. while you're there grab the switch and pigtail assemblies for the reverse and nss.

Re: Manual TO Automatic Swap Questions!
Ok ya i was thinking i would have to pull the bracket out of an automatic in order for the new shifter to go in but since im getting the b&m ratchet shifter made for the 3rd gen camaro, do i still need the stock bracket? And im guessing the wires for the nuetral safety and reverse are the wires running to the shifter but how do you make the conversion bc i know auto amd manual is different. Also thank you for your reply
