Problems with 5th Gear
I've got a 1990 Camaro RS with the 305 TBI motor and the stock transmission that came with it. For the last 6 months or so, I've been having problems when it comes to shifting into 5th gear. It will grind into 5th (even after matching revs), and occasionally pop right back out. Anyone have any possible solutions for my problem?

Re: Problems with 5th Gear
You can check fluid level, shifter cup and all that good stuff but the real solution is to remove the trans, pop off the tail shaft and cover then replace the worn parts near 5th gear.
The good news is 5th gear is super easy to work on vs the rest of the transmission and dose not require any special tools beyond some punches and snap ring pliers.
