86 t5 to 92 700R4 Firebird starter difference?

Picked up an 86 TA with t5 to swap into our 92 bird. Both 305's. 86 is not running, starter is shot and it sat for years. I can turn a little bit by hand but don't want to break the crank bolt. Pushing the car is not an option at the moment. I was hoping to put the 92 starter in it to crank it (would like to have it running to check the trans, and could use the motor as a runner in another project rather than building another right now).
Starters seem to be different based on part numbers? Some also specify "auto trans" and none of the 92 ones cross with 86 according to Rockauto or ACDelco. They're all 9 tooth SB starters.
Anyone know the actual difference? I don't want to break the 92 one, but I also don't want to buy a new 86 one if it won't fit the 92 engine for the swap.

(I could swear I posted this earlier but I came back and it wasn't here...)
