I need help!converting disc brake to drums

I know this may sound stupid but I have an 89 iroc with the borg 9 rear and it's limited slip 2.77 only one tire pulls until you start doing figure 8s both will eventually turn though.. iam wanting posi and 3.73 gears atleast and the 9 inch parts are just too high, when I have a 10 bolt posi with 373 gears that came out of an 88 iroc just sitting.. my question is will it fit the 89 I know the disc brakes want work that's why i was gonna keep the drum brakes until I can buy the disc brake kit for the 10 bolt.. can any one help???

An 88 wouldn't have been originally equipped with 3.73's, unless it was swapped in of course, so you might verify what you have.

IIRC, the axle flange on a drum rear is different from a disc brake rear end, so the swap would require a major effort.

Re: I need help!converting disc brake to drums

on the 10 bolt drum rear, You can cut the top off of the drum brake bracket, drill 2 new upper holes using the disc rear brake bracket, enlarge the bottom 2, do some more small things and the whole disc setup will pretty much swap over fairly easy. If you do it right, you won't need to break open the brake lines or unhook the E brake cables. You will have to remove the axles from both rearends.

All I can find is 10 bolt disc brake conversion. Not 9 disc brakes to 10bolt conversion
