T56 swap crossmember issue
Got the crossmember in a trade. Seems it's two inches too long. Is this for a different t56?

Borg warner. However we cut a plate from 1/4 steel and mounted it between the two. Works great

Re: T56 swap crossmember issue
There are three sets of crossmember holes on 83-92 third gens I believe. I don't recall if the front two might be able to be used.
As for LS /LT, the LS bellhousing is about 16mm deeper, the rest of the trans. is the same. The distance you're dealing with is greater than that amount.

Re: T56 swap crossmember issue
Who makes that crossmember? Check out this thread for pictures. See if it helps. You may have the wrong crossmember. And I wouldnt do the plate you are talking about. It will raise the angle of the driveline which will throw off the pinion angle. For the cost of a new crossmember, Id just buy a new one and be done with it.

Re: T56 swap crossmember issue
I believe I have this same cross member. What are my options and what cross member is this?? I have the same issue right now with my swap. My trans mount won't line up.
