700r4 transmission rebuild question??
When i get my 700r4 rebuilt next week what sould i ask the transmission shop to do to it so it will last longer upshift and downshift better. A ballpark figure on the price on parts would be helpful. Thanks Alot, Chris

A better question would be:
What should the transmission shop tell me when I ask what they are going to do to make my transmission last longer?
You should go around an ask shops what they will do. Go with the one that says they replace all the bushings, inspect all hard parts, adjust new clutch packs for better performance (decrease travel), Install a transgo shift kit, rebuild or replace the converter (with a new one), replace all thrust washers and bearings, use quality clutches and a new band like borg warner, alto, etc.
Test pressure switches and lock up solinoid, replace governor gear. Perform modifications to correct factory flaws.
Hopefully someone can add to this.
Don't rush trying to find a good shop, know what your talking about and listen to what they say, take some time to learn the basics so you know what they are talking about.
