Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

Hey guys I havent really been posting my builds on here latly. But I made up this video as a year in review.

I will say im very excited to see what the car is capible of in a few short months. April 6th marks the first chance I have at taking the car down the strip, and still there is alot to be done still.

Thanks again turbo and tuning friends for all the help over the last year. A year ago I didnt know anything about what I am doing today. Without you here on TGO I would have been lost in a sea of V8's

Enjoy. Sorry if you dont like the music...

Yea code59. I like it for the most part. The resolustion is a little tight. But else then that no real issues here.

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

i forgot to add dont be surprised if it dont run good at first with all the changes u made

when my new 3.1 went in and i made all the different changes my first outing went
15.0 14.8 then
14.5 - 14.00
and the third time it went
13.5 and 13.0
4th it went 12.75 and 12.30's
etc etc

the only thing i ever did was change the tune on it
just cause the car feels good dont mean it will run good , when the car went 15's it ran and drove great but track times told the story

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

heres the 14.5 run

listen to the car on the first burnout didnt bother putting the run it cause car had issues going down track , then the second burnout is on the 14.5 , the third was the burnout for the 14.01 but i didnt add the video for some reason

no boost chnages just some tunning all done with the stock narrow band i didnt have a wideband in the car for about 4 years i started tunning with a narrow band went 12'switht he 2.8 then built the 3.1 and didnt put a wideband in it till the car went 12's/13.0

Where at, you get a house or in the trailer park?
[my luck you would move in next to my GF ex hubby in the trailer park, he already lives caddy corner from an old friend]

Spent allot of my life riding off road at the ponds behind the trailer park. back when it was more off road friendly.

Ps im looking to buy a 1999 grand am with a gtp engine swap from a friend for a DD. Cant beat that but i need a week still to get that so i have to drive the camaro 4 days to work....lol

the eebrake lever usually attaches at the bottom of the shoes, are they attached to the cables still or on ur old pads?

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

just follow that link i posted and u will be fine, be sure to pay attention to the adjusters and make sure they are on the right side otherwise the brakes wont self adjust

dont forget to adjust the brakes once u are done

jack up under the rear and spin the tire by hand, tighten the adjuster till u feel a bit of drag then back it off till u have a slight drag on the wheel. repeat for the other side

so u dont mix and match them , that link i posted explains how to make sure there on the right side

if u mix them up instea dof self adjusting out as the brakes wear they will close up making the back brakes work even less

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

ok.

How do i connect the new lines. I have 2 new short lines with the fittings(bubble flare) to screw into the brake cylinders. Now on the other side I have a cut brake line(the main line) and then the end of the short brake line I bought. Do i flare these ends and use a flared union to put them together???

something like this? http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...1164&ppt=C0248 to connect the brake lines together?

I have compression fittings buy the hand full but to be honest, i dont trust them for that amount of pressure.

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

u can use the union as long as u can flare the tubing correctly

ive used compression fittingds in a pinch before and they worked fine but i dont recomend it if u have the means to do it properly

Yeah Kent was fun back in the day and still can be at times, but I'm almost 35 so the young punks in Kent don't go over all that well with me at this point, but the girls are always nice to look at.

Sorry to hear about your DD.

Works good dave. The gears are definitly noticable let alone if i just floor it it just sits sidways... I didnt do that too much though. Im getting some KR from something. I think its just from the hvac cover plate i put on. I didnt have time to lay a gasket between the metal so it could and is probly rattleing. Its going with KR even when im just driving at 60 and gas it(no burnout).

But else then that its good. It just has to get me 70 miles to work(round trip each day) for the rest of the week which im sure it will.

Off hand how fast do you think 65mph is on my spedo now?? Like 75-80. I went from the 3.23 to the 3.73

im not sure actually since it will be off by percentages not a set number

@ 10 mph it may be off 2% @ 50mph it can be off say 7%

best bet is to fix it in the ecm so that ur datalogs give u accurate readings
then find out what is 25/35/45/55 mph and mark them on ur speedo so u dont forget while driving

btw u know u have to post a video now right lol

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

magnetic vss. There a buffer in the ecm but im not up to tuning right now. Been a long day on that car...lol But I will get into the speedo later this week.

Dave no vids tonight. Ive been busting **** getting that car done and its cold out... too cold. Sure wish I had a heater in that car. Ill get some vids though man as soon as i can, you know that.

Heres the car im going to hopefully pick up this weekend. Its a 98 GT with L67 swap. Green Sedan with stock hood and spoiler about 80k miles on the body. 40k since the rebuild on the motor and trans., Thrasher CAI, MPS on a gen3, SLP Loudmouth Exhaust, AC Delete, SLP front Swaybar

I drove it before and its a nice ride. Makes high 13.90 sec passes with 10psi of boost. But its just a DD for me so no beating the helll out of it. Sure beats the buick lesabre DD I have now. I even get a tuner program and cable in case i need to retune it.

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

assuming no other changes went on, multiply your road speed constant by 1.155 and that will get it back to where it should be in the ECM. whether or not you can get the speedo accurate via the pulse divisors, i don't know.

also, grand prix, not grand am.

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

FWD

I have a major problem. I go to start the car this morning. Letting it warm up and it just dies. Then i kill the battery trying to start it. Pull a plug and its soaked. SO i get home from work and go start it. Starts right up but is rich as crap. No alky on either(its diconected physically). I could make 10psi of boost from free reving it. Never getting above 12afr ever. Its rich and from what i see every last plug is black as can be. So its not just a single injector problem.

Help please on how to eliminate issues.

Also my injector duty cycle seemed quite high when i tried to let it idle(but you can tell its rich as it stutters) DC is arround 5% which is way more then it should be. Bad chip? Bad ECM? Bad regulator??

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

I can tell you that often happend to mine when the battery has been undone for a while or its been sitting a while, had to use starting fluid a few times, but it went away once going.

To bad on FWD, need to find a RWD Buick to put my engine and stuff from the Buick wagon, getting to rusty body wise for the GF and kids. Full frame makes it a tank cept the doors are about to rot off, giving it paper bag side impact rating.....

re: Fasteddis Turbo 3.1/3100 Hybrid

WEll now it started up fine. I did 3 things. I reset the ecm. I put a different chip in it, and also I noticed that if i blew into the vac reference for the regulator it was leaking air. But the leak was because the hose wasent on there good.

Now the injec dc is 1.5% which still makes me think its the damm ecm but that just me.

Ill sell ya my buick cheep....lol make it a RWD
