Dam hyrdo lock [ fuel ]

Dam hyrdo lock [ fuel ]

man I just got done putting interior back together and getting it off the jack stands and ramps. sat there and ran fine, up to temp, good oil PSI, I let it idle till up to temp and run a few mins, move it to a new spot in drive, idle a bit more.

I done turned it off, cleaning up for the day, hood is still open.

Hey ill check the oil, [checked the other day when I moved it to turn it around and it was close to full.]

Pull stick and wipe it off as normal [ was oil on it ] put it back in and its comes out clean to faint. HUH??? So I put a quart in it, rear main does drip, has say almost a yr. Well I wait a min to check again, comes out clean, WTF now.

I clean up some more as im spent. Go back in a few and it now reads oil on the on first pull out, I wipe off and check again, nothing.

Go to start the engine and it stops dead on half a crank, I know this sound, this feeling, hydro lock

Now how and WTF???

gimma a break

Re: Dam hyrdo lock [ fuel ]

Changed plugs, back two, wet midnight carbon black, rest, dry carbon black.

Ran great at first, as it got warm it got worse till it was all pissy again.

Then light bulb, hey this dam car has computer codes.

IM getting the MAF code, make sense why it idles better then when I try n give it gas it gets pissy.

wonder if about 13 years would still count for a warranty, im sure I bought the life time one. MAF is marked AC but autozone don't sell AC ones anymore....

OK FPR passes vaccum suck test

fuel injectors work right and spray well, made a quick test rig to check spray and if any are stuck. [ 12v source, tire valve, can of FI cleaner with bits super glued to make psi in tire valve ]

here is a pic? do I have a CSI??? that the big nuts n small tube in middle of fuel rail????

Ok fuel injectors check out , csi disabled 2in section of the. Csi line pounded flat so no fuel to it. Starts right up then slowly gets pissy n dies. Maf code still coming up, could a maf do that?

Re: Dam hyrdo lock [ fuel ]

40min drive for the only MAF in town, MAF code now gone, car will idle ok but touch gas n it still gets pissy.

no one has a TPS, 5 day wait from rockauto.

could a bad ground **** these two parts off? noticed today the small ground wire from batt cable is nearly broken off, few strands left. did make a new one. Could they have died from that? Odd how it runs fine, once day then check a million things n get no where. I had been removing the ground wire as I moved it around while working on it.

Re: Dam hyrdo lock [ fuel ]

Check the CTS connectors for corrosion. That causes it to report a colder engine temperature then it really is. So the ECM drops out of closed loop and adds fuel because the ECM thinks the engine is cold.

Re: Dam hyrdo lock [ fuel ]

I'd pull the fuel rail to test the injectors still connected to the fuel lines in the car. The can of cleaner will be no where near the 45-ish PSIG that is in the fuel rail, so if an injector is weak or lazy with pressure the only way to know is to put the running pressure to the injector.

you jog my memory, does the temp gauge run off it too? Did notice letting it ilde long as it would on its own. The temp never rose very much. Should have hit 200 and needed the fan turned on

Dash temperature gauge has it's own sender. Front of left side cylinder head, single green wire.

The ECM'S temperature sender is on the front of the lower intake manifold. Two wires, yellow & black.
