Speedometer Not Working And Leaking Transmission Fluid.

I had my manual transmission rebuilt and now my speedometer is not working and I seem to be leaking transmission fluid. My question is. Is it possible for my transmission to be leaking fluid from the speed sensor area? When I checked, the sensor did have droplets of transmission fluid on it. My mechanic told me I need a drive shaft seal. Note, he hasn't looked at my car yet. The seal is pretty cheap, but I don't want to buy one if it is in fact leaking from the sensor. Please someone help your friendly neighborhood Spyder out.

Re: Speedometer Not Working And Leaking Transmission Fluid.

it could literally be leaking from any number of places, have you checked the fluid level? look under your car and see where its leaking from. when i pulled out my speed sensor there was like 2 cups of fluid that came out. if all you have is droplets then im pretty sure you're out of fluid
