Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
I wanted to put these wheels on my 1986 Firebird. It is currently satin black and I was wondering what you guys think of them. I wanted to go 20x8.5 on the rears and 18x8 on the fronts. Do you think these wheels would look good on our thirdgens? Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
I think putting a 2" taller rim in the back looks ridicules. Also having such a big rim only 8.5 inches wide is going to look extremely out of place on the *** end of a thirdgen. If you are going big, you have to go wide as well. If you really wanted a stagerd set up I would go with 18x 8.5 in the front, and 19x10 in the back. put nice thick tires in the rear and you are in business.

That will not look good on a thirdgen at all.

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
Most wheels people put on thirdgens dont look good at all. Doesn't stop them from liking it. I cant stand anything over 18's personally. Staggered and bling'd out.... it just starts look really hokey really fast. It's like those people that get addicted to plastic surgery. They just have to keep getting more and more ostentatious til it gets ridiculous.

IMHO that wheel looks like it would belong on a truck or SUV. Definitely no bigger than 18's as well.

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
Yea I kinda thought they were more SUV style but I had the chance to get a brand new set really cheap. Im not into the bling thing either. But Ive got to admit Ive seen some killer looking stances with the stagger setup. A 2" difference might sound like alot but it is actually very subtle. I found some nice satin black/polished lip 15's from Summit I think I might roll with till the end of the year. Then maybe next year I will have enough saved up to get a really nice staggered set.

I have a set of chrome 304's.I don't remember if there18x9.00,or18x9.50 but they look pretty good. They did change the way it rides, the car rides a lot smoother now.I prefer the 18's they give a little extra ground clearance with long tube headers and drop springs!Sorry no pics.

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
Well every person has there own idea of what looks nice. What matters is if you like them. I will agree with everyone else though that 20' is just over the line of gaudy, id stick with 18' at the most

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
I have to admit, I am with the rest of the fellas. Not a true fan of the wheel itself, but thats my opinion, the 18 and 20 inch setup will give the car an "off balance" feel, both looks wise and performance wise. I am puttin 19s all the way around on mine, jus my preference, but if possible try to stick with one size or the other, our cars were not made for 20s. Good luck!

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
I wouldn't put them on a thirdgen. I see them on fullsize chevy's all the time...not a bad wheel, but it is very common. I am looking at doing the Boss Motorsports 338's in the grey....which I think is a much better look for our cars.

Re: Boss Motorsports 304 Wheels
well the car dont have an engine or interior, so she is really light, and the sport lines are in! I know when i bought these wheels there wasn't anyone around my area with these, now everyone has them! what is up with that, i hate when you buy something and everyone else buys the same thing, especially in a small town, i even thought about changing wheels again but i know what will happen so ill leave it at that.
