I know this has been covered, but...

I will be due for some tires this spring. My car will never see rain or snow, and it puts around to 450-500hp to the ground. It will see mostly street driving with the ocassional trip to the strip until I can afford to build a rear end worth a launch attempt. That said, will the simple BFG Radial T/A's in a 275/60R15 provide sufficient traction to avoid kicking it sideways at 60mph? Are there any other options for a 15x8 that will be drivable but not so sticky that it will grenade the poor 10 bolt? MT sportsman s/t's? Cooper cobra's? Goodyear eagles? I don't expect to get very much traction from 0 mph, but I would like to at least be able to feel a bit of power on an on-ramp without the rear end getting squirrely.

you seriously need more than a 15x8 if you are running a street tire.

Re: I know this has been covered, but...

this is temporary. it won't be a street tire for long; just long enough to decide what I want to do for a rear end. right now the car has bald 235 bfg drag radials on it, and i'm afraid to upgrade to a bigger drag radial without a stronger rear end.

Re: I know this has been covered, but...

This is what I'm running on the rear .295/50r15s on a 8in. wheel. (wheels and tires are in my signature) I don't have the power you have but I really like the way these tires handle.Nice tire wear and decent traction. Here's a link=

And heres a little something for a 10 bolt or whatever you need it for. Here's a link to LPW Racing that I found very helpful when looking for a support cover when installing my new Eaton posi, 28 spline axles,3.42 gears and cover. = http://www.lpwracing.com/p_capcovers.asp and here's the tube braces= http://www.lpwracing.com/p_axletubebrace.asp. Maybe not what your looking for but thought Id add it just in case. Its what I'm running for a cover. Really like it!!
