4th Gen Wheels on 3rd Gen
I know many are doing this, just need to know the wheel spacer size/thickness and if you've had any issues with the spacers. Are you happy with the 4th Gen wheels and send some pics!
Thanks,
Roy
Thanks,
Roy

Re: 4th Gen Wheels on 3rd Gen
im running 1.75 front spacers because i also did the lsi brake conversion which makes the hub stick out a quarter inch.the forth gen rear allows the wheels to work without spacers.

I am running c6 deep dish replicas from oe wheels with 2" spacers all around with 8.5x18 in the front and 10.5x18 in the rear. I need to modify the rear bump stops a little due to it catching the rim when the car is on a lift with all of the weight off the rear end. Besides that I haven't had any issues.

Yeah the two complications you run into are some ZR1 wheels need a 2.25" spacer, some need a 2" spacer. Some other vette wheels need a 2.25" spacer up front to clear the strut too but I dont know which. Probably mostly 17's since 18's have more strut/tie rod clearance. If it's a 17x9.5, it probably needs a 2.25" spacer. If it's a 17x9 you're probably fine, but it just depends. It behooves you to do some research. Any floating rotor brake conversion will subtract from that, though. From what I can recall I know the LS1 rotors are .300" thick. So I only run a 2" adapter for my 17x9.5's.
The other thing is some of the wider tires on the rear can actually sit in a little farther than 2". My 17x11 ZR1's are on 1.25" adapters.

Re: 4th Gen Wheels on 3rd Gen
I have a pair of 2" spacers for $50 shipped because i did the 4th gen conversion and no longer need them. PM me if you need them.
Edit: come to think of it im also looking to selling the wheels (for no other reason than a 14" corvette brake setup) they are the ZR1 style but they came from an anniversary edition 4th gen camaro ss. If your interested in those they have 275/40-17 tires on them that should be replaced. I can send pics if interested $350 plus shipping

Thanks everyone, decided to bail on the 4th gen wheel idea, too much $ with old wheels for the end result in my humble opinion

Re: 4th Gen Wheels on 3rd Gen
hey I know this is a old post but i have some questions similar to this post.
I bought 17x9.5 c5 z06 rims (black) from oe wheels.com. I also ordered the Hawks third gen wheel spacer kit.
When I installed the spacer kit the rears fit AWESOME! but the fronts rub the tie rod end barely. The Hawks kit sent me 1 1/2in (2 fronts) and 2in (2 rear)
Since the oe wheels are 9.5 and are wider than stock 4th gen wheels if i order 2 in for the front then that should solve my problem?
Stock GTA rims are 16x8 with 0mm offset in the front and new rims are 17x9.5 with +54mm offset. When i converted the 54mm to inchest it came out to 2.12in. Thats why i think if i got the 2in wheel adapeters for the fronts this should clear the tie rod ends.
What is everyones thoughts on this?
