18x10.5 with 315 in rear??
I have a lowered thirdgen (Ground Control weight jackers), car is an autocross car.. Already installed adjustable Panhard bar to re-center the rear.
I need to go with some 315 tires in the rear and I will be buying new wheels to make sure it happens. I'm not afraid of BFH for my BFG (ha ha)..
I'm going with 18 inch wheels, can probably fit 10.5 inch wide... I'm not a drag racer, so it will be LOW profile, something like a 315/30r18
So, what do you think on the 315 tire?
a) Heavy trimming and hammering with ____ offset
b) no way
c) Should fit perfectly with ____ offset
TIRERACK DETAILS ON THE TIRE ARE HERE:
P315/30ZR18
UTQG | LOAD | MAX. PRESSURE | TREAD DEPTH | WEIGHT| RIM WIDTH | MEAS. RIM WIDTH | SECT. WIDTH | TREAD WIDTH
200 AA A | 1,356 lbs.| 51 psi | 7.2/32" | 29 lbs. | 10.5-11.5" | 11" | 12.6" | 11.4"

I have bought a wheel wizard so I will be TRYING the 10.5 width rim to make sure it doesn't hit anything, but I can't be sure about the 315..

Without cutting anything 6.5" will work with a little hammering, roll the fender lip. You may have issues with rubbing a little because of the panhard bar if you use one.

Do you think I could go more like 6.6 backspace to stay out of the fender or am I maxed out there on backspace at 6.5 without mini-tubs.?
THANKS for the help!

You going to have to roll the fender regardless unless you set the bumpstops to prevent that at you ride height if its even possible.
I ran 18x10.5 with +17 mm offset with nothing more than a little hammering to the front lower wheel well, I was pretty low but any lower and I would be a bit close to the center lip. You can run more backspacing, it will just add to the cutting.
if you want to get into a mini tub you can run as much as 8.5" or backspacing on 18x12. With a watts link or in my case a mumford link, you could go wider

Re: 18x10.5 with 315 in rear??
I have a 17X10.5 with a 315 in the rear. It does fit, but the wheel hits the bump stop on the lift (I just put the jack under the diff to lift it for now). The car is getting work done in the garage at the moment.
This is on a LT1 rear end with around 7" backspace I believe. You will need to roll the lip and get rid of the bumpstop. An adjustable pan hard bar helps, once lowered, the rear was kicked out to one side pretty bad.

Re: 18x10.5 with 315 in rear??
I've seen several examples of BFG 335/30R18s on 10.5s, but to me the perfect tire for a 10.5 is a 285.
More than one thread here on tucking 18x10.5s up front with 295s, several threads here on how to tuck 315/35R17x11s rear.
For months I've been thinking of ordering a 19x12 from OEWheelsLLC and ordering a 305/30R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport, I want to tuck that under the front of my '86 Camaro, especially now that I'm working on a heavier engine.
