Need help fitting XXR 526 with the 5x120 pattern
Hey guys,
I'm looking into fitting a set of XXR 526s on my 88 iroc. From what I've read so far, I'm going to need 18x9 + 35mm in the front with a 1.25 spacer that either adapts to 5x120 or 5x114.3. I Like the +25mm offset better because it has a deeper lip but I believe there is some problem with it interfering with the hub? Is it possible to machine the wheel to fix this somehow?
Now for the rears, the 10.5 in. wide rims will fit nice and flush without a spacer, but then I have to bolt a 5x120 pattern on a 5x4.75.
The other option is to go with a 9 in wide wheel and use an adpater spacer in the back for a square setup, but I'd prefer a bigger lip and wheel in the back.
My question is, for those that do run xxr 526s, do you just bolt them on with the wrong bolt pattern and use a hub centric ring, or is it really necessary to buy dual bolt pattern hubs?
They make other wheels with 5x4.75, but I don't think they would machine a pair of 526s with a 5x4.75 pattern for me.
Thanks,
Brian

It is possible to machine the wheel in the center large enough so the hub passes through. Then you run into the problem of what do you cover that ugly hub up with? It will stick out too far to have a cap on it.
If you can find wobble lug nuts small enough to fit in the lug holes that is how you compensate for that difference in pattern. It would be better to machine but the wobble nuts work as well. I would search 'tuner lug nuts' and 'wobble nuts' and see what you find.
