Are these Z28 rims?

I bought my 92 RS back in June and these are the wheels that came on it. But from what I see online it seems only the Z's have the red painted rims. I'm just wondering if these red wheels were standard on a 92 RS (305) or if they were and upgrade, or if maybe someone put these on from a Z. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Are these Z28 rims?

If they are 16" then yes they are Z28 ones if 15" them they were the std ones think they could be in red, white or grey depending on the car color from GM

Thank you daferris! They are 16". So I'm guessing somewhere along the line someone threw these on there.

Re: Are these Z28 rims?

Gm didnt offer the 91-92 premium alloy wheels in a 15" diameter. Those wheels were standard on the Z28s and an option on the RS as RPO code N96 I believe.

Re: Are these Z28 rims?

Look at the RPO codes and see if there is a N96 code

What is an RPO code? I'm not good at codes.

Open the hatch and then open the rear cargo compartment (glove box). Inside, you will find a white decal with a bunch of numbers and letter codes on it. Confirm that the VIN on the sticker matches the actual VIN of the car and if so then you can decode all the RPO (regular production option) codes. These were the codes GM used for each vehicle they build.

Re: Are these Z28 rims?

This Might Help,As BOTTLEDZ28 Said Those Wheels Were Optional On The RS,The Wheel Color Depended On What The Body Color Was.

My 92 RS has the "Z28" wheels too (N96 option). Mine are unpainted though, on a purple haze car.
