ThirdGen.org Site Updates

We’re always looking for ways to improve the site and we’re hearing everyone’s suggestions. A big feature that has been asked for over and over again is to reduce the time between search. After doing extensive research and finding a method that was both lightning fast AND reliable we have instated a new and improved search function for ThirdGen.org. Instead of waiting a full minute between searches we have gotten that time down to 15 seconds. So by the time you’re done sorting through the results you’re ready to search again with no restraints.

Another vast improvement to the search feature is the speed and returned results. Instead of having to wait 20 – 50 seconds (or more) for your results to be returned, you are getting your answers in second or even fractions of a second. This is great!!! You may have also noticed that the returned results seem to be more relevant to what you are looking for, as well as more current and active threads.
All in all, this new search feature just rocks and we hope you enjoy using it.

Another little feature that was added was the size that LARGE images get reduced to when you insert them directly into a thread. Instead of 700px wide you can now view your images at 800px wide, which is usually what most people upload their images as. If an image is larger than that and you wish to get a more accurate view of what it looks like, go ahead and “Right Click” on the image and choose “View Image”. This will take you to a page where you get to view the image in it’s native resolution.
Anything that makes ThirdGen.org more user friendly is what we’re striving for. We hope you enjoy the changes as much as we do.
