I used proform roller rockers with absolutly no problems.

They seemed tight and machined well for the money. I have about 2 years on them.

All I have to say is that I'm sure not ALL proform is bad!! I have heard SEVERAL people say that they got bad proform modules but I think the overall proform kit is a good deal! Just buy an MSD 6-AL box to replace that proform module and presto, no more probs!!

305 TPI
200,000+ miles (speedo/odometer non-funtional! Odometer reads 142,000)

Soon to upgrade to a 350 converted from TPI to Carb, Edelbrock 750CFM Carb, Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Headman Shorty Headers, Some sort of ported heads (undecided), XE268 Cam, Moroso HEI ignition kit with external MSD Blaster II Coil and an MSD 6-AL Box!!
Current project: Keeping my 305 running until I get my income tax returns!

Funny, I only see Burnoutrpm complaining (and mentioning) the problem he's had with their hei upgrade kit. I believe this board IS to inform others about their experience with a particular product.

I see no reason to flame burnoutrpm for doing just that. If you have great luck with their product, fine mention it. But don't flame the guy. Geeesshhh!

I too got info from a reliable source that Proform roller rockers are junk. Joel, you may want to inspect them occasionally.

I tried the Proform vibration damper from Jegs - it slid onto the crank with no problem , almost too easy - I torqued the crank bolt down and all was fine until the sleeve that goes on the crank split off taking half the crank bolt with it - I extracted the other half of the bolt and bought a better damper

Got one of there chrome alternator kits that lets you gut your old one and put the internals in the new chrome case. I was not impressed. The new case felt cheap, looked ok, and sounded terrible (you could hear the new bearings spinning, thought i was gonna burn them up) I took it apart again to make sure i hadn't done something wrong, but that was just how the new case sounded. It lasted until i ended up getting a new ACDelco.

Also had one of there chrome water outlet necks. The inside casting deteriorated in one spot, and i ended up poking my finger through the chrome plating one day, which seemed to be the only thing holding the water in! (no high pressure because there was no thermostat at the time)

Can't say i'll ever pick up another ProForm product...

Installed one of their 87-93 HEI distributors and had the module crap out five seconds after startup. While adjusting the timing to try and get the car running right the baseplate to which the module and cap attach lost it's press-fit with the distributor shaft and started wobbling around. Pulled that thing out, put my high mileage original back in, and all was well with the world. No Proform products ever again for me.

Brings truth to the saying "you get what you pay for" Proform is first class junk. About the only product they make that you could trust would be a set of v.c's or a timing chain cover.....chrome would probably flake of though...
