Best Place to get a Vigilante converter?

I am looking to purchase a Vigilante torque converter and i was wondering where you guys have gotten yours from or if you could tell me where to get one at a fair price. I was looking at one from Next Generation since they are having a 20% off sale from now till next week but the price is still a little high. Precision Industries wants $834 right from them. Next Generation wants $825 without the discount. Who else sells these for a good price. I know they must be cheaper than that, or am i wrong? Any help would be great, thanks-Bryan

Precision Industries Vigilante Torque Converter - $735.00

The first place I would look would be the advertisers that support this site.

And your car supports their thirdgen section! I am not "hating" but they do have some higher prices than others! I would rather donate money than get ripped in my opinion. Then i would know what exactly of my hard earned cash is supporting this site. Thanks though, that is actually the first place on the internet where i have seen them for sale. Any other places? I just might give Pro-Built an e-mail, thanks-Bryan

No, my car was volunteered as a royalty free photo for their thirdgen section. My words are based on the fact that Thunder has given me better service than Summit, Jegs, etc. I challenge you to find a bad experience for Thunder Racing. I'd be willing to bet you can't. Oh, and as for price... the last time I checked, $820 was greater than $735.

I'm really sorry. I did not mean to start anything! I was just stating that your car is on their thirdgen page! By supporting i did not mean that you had to give them anything. As far as price goes, when they were having a "freaky friday" event for last friday the 13th i was going to get a Borla exhaust since they had them on "sale". They want $599 for them already plus a 10% off i believe which does not equal the price over at Summit for $530, well maybe it does! There is your markup. The converter i want would be a lockup. It does not tell you on their web site wether it is or not. PI wants $735 right from them for a non-lockup converter, and $835 lockup. If the lockup one is at that price from Thunder, than maybe i will do business with them. Ordering something from most companies will almost guarantee you a huge bill because they can sell their stuff for whatever they want. I have never personaly had a problem with Summit or Jeggs. I have spoken to a woman over at Thunder before and she was pretty nice and helpfull so i can't complain there. Plus you have to look at the volume of work these places do. How do you think Summit and Jeggs get such great prices? They sell this stuff by the truck load and this way they can sell it at a pretty good price. The more orders they have to fill, the more of a chance for error, it is human nature and computers will screw up from time to time too! It is just how it is. So, can anyone else tell me where to find these converters? My search engine does not bring up much at all! thanks

$699 Lockup PI converter
http://www.lt1f-body.racenet.net/drivetrain.php

$735 here
http://www.motorsporttech.com/2002_w...rivetrain.html

$795 here
http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog...ion&car=impala

$735 here
http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...ufacturerid=29

$729 here
http://www.tbyrne.com/c5/c5transgears.html

and finally $689. $889 or $949 here
http://www.performancess.com/vigilante.html

That last one raises a few questions. The $689 one is for a lock up version single disk. The other two more expensive ones are for a 3 disk and 5 disk versions.
I would assume that the 5 disk version is the wy to go if $$$ is no object. I would also assume that all the above sites that list the PI converter are the single disk version as well.

There are way more places that sell on the intsernet, I just typed "Vigilante Converter" at www.yahoo.com

Thanks a lot John. I really appreciate it! My search engine basically pulls up sites where people have them on their cars, not retail places! I used to have google but my sister did something to it and now we have sureseeker!? Thanks a lot for the leads and take it easy-Bryan

Thanks for all of your help guys. I just got one from a link above! The site was lt1f-body.racenet.net. They had the best price that i found. I called up Summit too and they did not sell them. The total came out to be $708.45 to my door. Not bad but still a lot of money. I am sure i will be happy with it's performance. Well, this is pretty much the last thing i needed for my motor swap so it is only a matter of time before it gets done. Thanks again John-Bryan
