Getting hot and don't know why.

My girl was getting hot and I can't figure out why. I checked the electric fan, it works. I checked all fluid levels, they are fine. Checked for foreign objects blocking air flow to radiator, it's clear. Engine runs great, just gets hot. What else should I check?

Hey chevystud. First replace your thermostat .

If you have $50 laying around order the JET or HYPERTECH fan switch. It makes a WORLD of a difference let me tell you. My car never goes past 200* anymore. Not once! I also put some Red Line watter wetter in there. Works like magic. It's $7 from summit. good luck.

Also, your gauage could just be reading incorrectly, how warm does the coolant feel after you shut the car off?

The AF just spews and bubbles. The gages always have worked good in this car. It could be the therm. I never really thought about that, thanks allot. I'll get back with you and tell you what happens.
