Anybody know anything about them or ever run then. According to there manual you can set it up yourself- true? Also strength compared to clutch type posi (ie- auburn, slp, etc)
I don't know much about them but a friend has one in his camaro, it gets good traction but makes a loud clicking noise when making turns, it would be too loud for me to put up with on my car. I would go with the heavy duty zexel torsen unit SLP sells.
hmmm, I can barely hear the clickin with my powertrax. I have to peak my head out the window and listen for it. I've been told it's clearly audible from outside the car though.
It gives good traction as it locks both wheels together when going straight.
The install was a snap. If I had to do it again I could probably have it done in little over an hour. Plus if you already have aftermarket ring and pinion, the powertrax is the way to go since it doesn't effect your pinion setting at all. An SLP unit requires pinion removal, which is quite a bit of work and needs to be done correctly or you can mess things up real bad.
If you plan a gear swap at the same time, the $99 SLP unit is probably a better choice since it's so much cheaper.
Powertrax told me, that their systems can handle 800hp.
