EVANS NPG cooling..........

Not a whole lot of it has been talked about this "revolutionary" coolant. Why or why not will it work with a third gen? Anyone can attest to the results if they have used it?

I'm putting a new engine with new radiator, and new water pump. Just what to do the Pro's and con's.

Pros: It just is a lot better then water:glycol in almost every way.

Cons: $$$, you can only run Evans... no water (what happens if you spring a leak on a trip), not sure how good it is if you live in a cold area (like Minnesota or something) because it is very viscous at low temps.

From what I've read, yes it's good if you have an engine that is experiencing detonation, or is on the ragged edge. You'll see significantly cooler metal temperatures.

However, like was noted above, the cost is way up there. You have to have a high flow water pump, high flow thermostat, radiator, etc... and can have no water in your system.
So you're stuck if you lose coolant in BFE.

This question was asked on the Impala SS forum, so it's easier for both of us for me to steer you to the links. Some of these are more useful than others so you'll have to surf them all. At least one of these links includes someone using it, so you'll have someone to ask usage-questions directly. FYI, HTH. - Ken
