No man, the thunder were the Ford heads, the Lighning were the chevrolet heads. Both came in iron or aluminum form.
...and come to think of it the BBC aluminums were called pro thunders.....Just different model runs I guess. - Competition Products always had the iron sbc's listed as pro thunder......

Ill let this thread speak for itself since its getting independent tests rather than magazine or advertising numbers.

do a search/try another post. - the e-tecs aren't even in the same league as the pro or afr. - not trying to bash you but, just trying not to clutter up the thread.

Im surprised this thread is this long and noone even put this in.

oct. 2003 Super Chevy, Joe Sherman Racing builds engines using slightly modified ProTopline Vortecs, he won the PHR engine masters challenge and won $75,000 doing it.

I tried to put an end to it, but no matter how great the pro's are, the afr guys that paid twice as much are still gonna think and say they have better heads......
- I haven't dyno'ed, but 11.7X's at around 120ish in a 4000lb car. 355ci, topline 200's, CNC chambers(NOT ports), ZERO port work, 5-angle valve job.
That's all I need to know...

Re: Pro Action vs AFR

i did sum research before buying my rhs 200 pro-actions in iron, with a mild cammed hsr, i got a pinch above 500 out of my engine on the dyno in atlanta tx flywheel of course, not at the wheels, lol i wish!!!

i had jerry cracraft order and assemdle the heads, including the 7/16 valvetrain he said he did a lttle work to the valveseats, but for $900 ready to bolt on? there a helluva bang for the buck! im just hopin to see tens on a 100 shot mwa ha ha
