Need Hp, AFR 195 Heads...???

Hey,
I was looking at buying a set of AFR's 195 Heads... Here's my setup as of right now:

-74' 4-bolt 350 (bored 0.030 over)
-Keith Black pistons (normal compression)
Basically a stock bottom end other than the oversized pistons.
-Edelbrock Performer Intake
-Blue Racer Camshaft (224 at 0.050)
-670 Holley Street Avenger Carb
-HEI w/ Accel Supercoil
-14" 1 3/4" Element Air Clean (think its killin' me)

I think i've got a good setup but i'm still not happy with the performance its putting out. The heads I have are stock 1974 heads. Not the double hump or nothing, just plain stock. Would adding the AFR heads give me a big hp increase and noticable acceleration or should I save the 1000 and try something else?!?!

Thanks

Get the AFR heads, you will not be upset. You will see a big difference over your current heads and combo. Also get a taller air filter to gain airflow, but you already know that. What is normal compression ratio?try to keep it around 10:1 for good streetability on pump gas.

They put AFR's on a TBI 350 truck w/ 1.6 rockers and got 55HP and 58 ft/lbs of torque at the tires. I think that says good things about their product. Plus, I am a proud owner of a set of fully ported 195's.

Also...to further compliment your AFR headed set-up...a little more carb would go a loooong way. try a 750 and you'll see a big difference as well

There is no such thing as a carb to big, just an enigne that is to small!! You could set the 770 lower if the engine is to small for it.
