slp proms

slp online has some proms on sale (40034 Proms, 1989 Camaro/Firebird 5.7L auto dual catalyst, 49 state 69.95$). I was wondering if it's a worthy upgrade. My car has a single cat setup. Is this prom gonna work for me too? The only mods my car has are a hi-flow cat and a Flowmaster cat-back.
Thanks!

Call SLP and ask, if you want the correct answer.

Calling SLP wasn't very helpful for me. No specifics at all. They did tell me it was for a car with opened up exhaust(headers/cat-back) and free flowing intake(CAI"cold air induction" and SLP runners?)

I have one for my car 89 5spd 305 TPI, It does turn the fan on earlier and also has a rev-limiter at 5500rpm. I did have a very noticible difference SOTP after the chip and home made CAI. At the track I gained .5 sec and 3 mph in the 1/4 with these mods. (I already had headers and a muffler/highflow cat)

I believe these chips are coming from part of a SLP performance kit they used to offer including:the chip, SLP runners, SLP CAI, SLP headers, and SLP cat-back.

I'd say go with it if you plan on getting headers sometime and aftermarket Intake Runners. It's cheap if you want a chip and don't want to get into custom prom burning right now.

It was the most cost effective vs. performanced gained mod for my car so far. $80(shipping is $10) and 30 min to install.
