I agree. Go with the electical! Every seen a car with oil all over the carpet from the nylon tubing spinging a leak. I have and it wasn't pretty. Basically had to replace the front carpet.

I asked auto meter the same question and they said electric. I've bought the ultra light gauges and all I need is a fuel level and I'll be finished. Now if I can just find a way to fit all these in a 90-92 camaro IP cluster.

This place makes all kinds of panels for Camaros with and without gauges. Kinda pricey with gauges. They do not make 82-92 Firebird/Trans Am Gauge cluster though.

When it comes to monitoring crucial elements like engine temperature and oil pressure, I always choose mechanical. Anything can happen with electrical to give a false reading. If you're worried about oil peeing inside the car, don't be a cheapskate and GET THE COPPER tubing kit - you'll be glad you did.

aftermarket guages

Whats up guys, i'm new here but love the site.
I like the way you guys got together and are working on that 9-bolt rear girdle issue, just had 3.73's installed due to a broken pinion(3.27's). Guess i'll be needing that piece soon to.
anyhooo, as far as gauges go, we have like no options.
Personally i like the white bezels in indiglo like a lot of the riceburners have. I've e-mailed a few company's with the suggestion of making something for third gen. maros and birds and waiting for replies. This one company has a development program where if they get enough requests, they will start the tooling (sound familiar) If you guys would like to have that cool blue glow that matches most newer radios check them out, speedhut.com. I also made a request to american products company to think about developing clear taillights and side markers for 3rd. gens.
Lets make these guys realize we like to upgrade the looks of our rides and theres a lot of us out there.

whatchas tink bout dat?

Welcome to the boards, tommygunn Just beware promoting euro tail-lights around here, there's some seriously narrowminded people trolling around and will honestly flip out and have a BIG problem with you for even suggesting something like that. Just search for "euro" or "clear" and you'll find a heap of locked threads. I personally am not discouraging you and encourage modifications and such (I have clear side markers and euro headlights), but just giving you a heads up and not to take the pile of criticism in a bad way. That sounded really negative didn't it? Anyway, welcome again and enjoy TGO; best community online I've ever found

I wouldn't mind buying a new instrument guage panel. I guess now I can start researching how to convert from mech speedo to electric. If someone reads this and can tell me an easy way to do it, just PM me please (since we'll be going off topic and what not)

Unforunately, those are only for 82-89 Camaros also!
NOT for 90-92 Camaros. I have a 1991 Camaro, wish
I could buy that and just slip it in, but it's WAY different
from mine. I will have to stay with stock gauges for my new
motor.
