Has anyone bought weatherstripping from this company? Is it as good as the Genuine GM stuff? I've heard that this company is supposed to make weatherstrip that is actually better than the original stuff. I have bought aftermarket weatherstrip before, and was not happy with it. But that was from a different company.

I have all new weatherstripping from SoffSeal. I am pleased with the product. Some people have bad experiences with aftermarket weatherstripping so I don't know if that makes me just lucky or the company turns out a good product. No complaints here.

What did you guys get from them? I need to get a t-top w/strip kit, and a door seal kit from them. Anyone have a P/N they used and what it included? Thanks guys.

Just go to soffseal.com and use their search engine. I used the search by model option. Quick and easy.

I installed Soffseal weatherstrip in my GTA last year. The passenger side window weatherstrip had a bad deformation in it near the 90 degree corner. They are located in Cincy, so I hopped in my truck and drove down there (~50 mi) and showed it to them. They gave me a new part with no hassles.

How was the quality of it though?

Soffseal has been around for a very long time. I wonder if they do anything for verts...?

I got the door seals and windows sweeps from them...install went well.

That's funny you happened to mention the OER stuff. I agree with you, it's total crap! I trust Soffseal more than any of the other suppliers. Me and a buddy of mine both have 69 camaros. When restoring mine, I used the Soffseal stuff and it fits perfect. He got the OER stuff, and it's too thin for the channel it installs to and doesn't look right at all visibly. So to anyone wanting to replace their weatherstripping, go with A&M's stuff and you won't regret it. Highly recommended here.

I used soffseal on my doors and i worked better than i tought. Just some minor things i had to change to make them fit.

.... I've switched from believing totallyin Soff Seal to Metro... found Soff Seal door seals were not allowing too many car doors to close.. and these were cars that had NOT had the doors removed and were swinging well.
Ended up finding out about METRO rubber products... They make their own door seals for 1st, 2nd & third gens that have a better sealing finish more like the originals on third gens.. and they allow the door to close without slamming or repeated shutting etc.
This is NOT a commercial for metro.. as we have also found some Soff Seal stuff better when compared ON the cars then others... but not on third gens.. Third gens at least keep your eyes open for Metro for your own sake.

so is the OER stuff the stuff coming from GM? i can get a nice price from the dealer (my company has a commercial account with a dealer near by) and was gonna just go with that. i can also get metro mould stuff. that that brand you meant?

.... no.. OER is independent..it is NOT GM... but OER stuff is very very very good at so many area's now.. thanks only to OER can you buy hundreds of parts compared to just two years back.. they have access to more tooling, more excellent reproducers around the world then probably any other company going in this field.
Metro is Metro Rubber Products ( http://www.metrommp.com ) makes stuff from the 30's to late, including stuff like 78-81 F body GM T-Top seals that work...

First, I'll admit that I don't think I have any experience with Soffseal. Until recently, all of my weatherstripping had come from the dealer.

However, I am currently installing as set of Metro weatherstripping onto my second gen. So far, I am happy with the quality. The parts all seem to fit fine, the finish is smooth, and the overall appearance is good.

Of course, who knows, I may change my mind by the time I finish the project...

I have the soffseal t-top weatherstripping on my IROC. I paid $300 for it, which I think is around double what the GM stuff costs.

It was worth every penny. My t-tops don't leak a drop now that I sealed up the middle bar with silicone. My gaskets aren't even glued in. They are just pressed into place. They fit perfectly and seal perfectly, and I can remove them when necessary.

ok, i wasnt sure if OER was a brand or just the OE Replacement from GM. so far, i really cant beat the prices for the weatherstripping. here's my price for what i'm looking at:
hatch: $55
t-tops (per side, i think this is only the main piece, but i'll find out soon): $85/side

deffinately gotta get the hatch soon; had a funky smell in the car. turned out to be a nice puddle of water in the hatch i couldnt see cause of my sub box. sub box is trashed from water and mold (good thing i was working on a nice ported box though). and the ttops deffinately gotta get done before i get the new seats.

oh, and it looks like we're talking about the same Metro company. they are semi-available through advance auto, but i think it may be a better idea to go with the GM ones.

which is the better deal on quality: GM or Metro?

I know the OER stuff has very good prices, but trust me, you get what you pay for. It's total crap! As for the Metro I'm not sure. But I can tell you that the GM stuff is most likely the best stuff out there, it's all original.

oh trust me, the GM stuff has been #1 on my list thus far, and i dont think the OER stuff could even match the price i'm getting on the good stuff.

one of the perks of working for a big auto company. last ac delco thing i bought was a fuel pump. to give you an idea of how nice we get it, i paid $40 for it brand new. so i'll keep the low pay as long as they keep hooking me up

I just redid every rubber piece on my whole Camaro - doors, t-tops, hatch, reveal moulding, sweeps and am thrilled with the Metro stuff! it looks factory, seals tight, installs perfectly, and I got them all through my local Advance Auto Parts store for cheap!! I've used A&M in the past on a 2nd gen and they were fine but the Metro pieces seem firmer and have a smoother surface.
