Por-20

Anyone used POR-20 (http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=128) on their exhaust? I'm considering doing my exhaust (hooker catback http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...HHM/CBcar.html) to make it last and look good but was wondering if anyone used this on their exhaust and if it lasts or not. Also how did you prep the exhaust prior to coating it with POR-20 ?

Yea, I used that stuff on my Y-pipe for my edelbrock headers when I did my exhaust a while back. I can't remember what I paid for it. But basically I sanded as much of the pipes as possible, then applied two coats. I want to say that was about 4 years ago? So it's lasted that long, but I haven't really driven the car alot. Still looks good though. Its' going to smell funny for awhile untill the coating "cures", but not a big deal. The only thing I would I would keep in mind is that my y-pipe was steel, while the cat-back system you're talking about is aluminized steel so you might not get the same results. But I'm not sure, because I didn't paint my cat-back. Anyway, hope it helps.

Thanks Thomas, just ordered some POR-20 should have it next week. Will give it a try and see how it works on my exhaust and also on my downpipe from the Turbo. I'll see how it works on the alumnized pipes.
