Louvered Look Oil Filter Cool Collar

I found this looking though the new jegs catolog the other day and wondered what everyone thought of this. Ive thought about getting one with my next order just to see if it really works.

Turn Your Oil Filter Into An Oil Cooler!
By using the heat sink principle, this reusable strap-on collar can significantly and inexpensively lower your vehicle's oil temperature. Fits all 3-5/8'' diameter filters.

636-TAS-6 Extruded Cool Collar $21.99

Just let me know your thoughts on this.

thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The question is how much of a difference would it make? If you got an extra 21 bucks to blow, go for it, and let us know if you run any cooler. Although without an oil temp gauge it's kinda hard to determine.

Stacey on Trucks mentioned it with no complaints. I don't think it will make the same difference as using a standard size oil cooler.

i think its a stupid idea for our cars.

my header is right next to this heatsink.

heat moves from hot to cold... it might actually make the filter hotter in my case...

just run a standard cooler
