Car: 1989 GTA Nighthawk Engine: 389 CID TPI Transmission: TCI 700R4 Axle/Gears: 9 bolt 3.23 | On my car with the RA II giid if you look in the hood openings you can see that the air intakes are straight inline with the air box not the filter so any incoming water should drop out before reaching the airbox, if not it will impinge on the airbox and drip off down by the radiator. I have driven through some torrential rain and had no problems. If you are really worried about it you can make an insert with some redirectional walls to force the water out.
